Dr. Pedro Vilanova

10 May, 2016

Pedro is a founding class member of KAUST. He obtained his Ph.D. in Applied Math in May 2015 under the supervision of Prof. Raul Tempone. During his Ph.D., Pedro coauthored several research articles in refereed journals related to numerical methods and algorithms for pure jump Markovian processes.

During the last year, Pedro has been a postdoctoral fellow at KAUST with both the Stochastic Numerics research group and the Uncertainty Quantification SRI Center. During his postdoctoral period at KAUST, he focused on inverse problems for stochastic differential equations with applications to fouling deposition and the analysis and development of adaptive multilevel Monte Carlo methods for SRNs.

Pedro has accepted a research position at the Mathematics Department of the University of Massachusetts (Amherst, MA), to begin in July 2016.
He will work with the group of Prof. Markos Katsoulakis.

We wish Pedro a successful career and hope to continue our collaboration in the future.
